About

Hello, my name is Russell Yeung. I recently retired from the IT field and am currently residing in a small town in Southern Ontario, Canada. I also have a cottage on Rice Lake, Ontario where I spend most of the summer months chilling out and doing some fishing.
The opinions expressed on this site are my own and they come from an amateur’s perspective.

I started my journey into the digital world with the Minolta Dimage 5 point and shoot digital camera. It is a pretty advanced camera and although only at 3MP, produced surprisingly capable pictures.

My next camera was the 12MP Fuji HS-10 bridge camera. With sufficient light, this 24 – 720mm equivalent super zoom gave excellent pictures. Unfortunately under low light conditions, the pictures were somewhat noisy.

I then upgraded to the mid level Nikon D90. Although it only had a 12MP sensor, it shared a lot of the features with the full frame D300 in a DX format and produced nice pictures. And it had the advantage of interchangeable lenses.

Still sticking with the DX format, I upgraded to the 24MP D7100. Unless I decide to go full frame I don’t think there are enough improvements to move to the more recent DX bodies.
